Smart prefix is the first four digits of the 11-digit phone number issued by Smart Communications to their subscribers. In other words, it is a unique identifier used by Smart to easily identify if a phone number belongs to them or not.

As of today, Smart offers more than 30 prefix numbers their subscribers can choose from. As a subscriber, you have the right to select a prefix number you want to use.

Choosing a Smart prefix number can be done upon buying a Smart SIM card. Just ask the sales clerk that you want to check the SIM card’s phone numbers. Then, look at the first four digits of the number and pick the one that you like.

Some of the commonly chosen prefix numbers are 0918 and 0920.

How to recognize a Smart number?

A phone number can be easily identified if it belongs to Smart or not. Just follow the steps below. (Let’s consider 09087654321, as an example.)

  1. Extract the first four digits of the phone number – in this case it’s 0908.
  2. After that, check if it is on the list of numbers below.
  3. If you can see it, that mobile number belongs to Smart.
  4. The owner of that phone number is called a Smart subscriber.
